Food! Coolness! Aspects that may increase the desire to enjoy delicious food served, especially in misty atmosphere. This misty phenomenon is rare and only occurs after the rain, seemed to give privileges to guests as a welcoming greeting. Only the lucky visitor will be able to enjoy dinner in misty atmosphere which certainly never expected by them. This can be viewed as a lucky day if you can enjoy it.

Located at the top of Penang Hill, David's Brown Restaurant and Terrace which situated on a hill called Strawberry Hill by the original owner because strawberry tree was planted by David Brown himself. The restaurant was originally a residential house by Captain Francis Light which then passed to Mr David Brown. Mr David Brown had changed residential status to a Chinese restaurant concept as what it is today. They offer a menu of western cuisine after he took over the estate and realize the depth of his interest in the business to establish David's Brown's Restaurant and Terrace.

Dining area outside the restaurant able to provide a good atmosphere to the visitors during the day or night. Enjoy delicious food as well as a beautiful view will certainly enhance to visitor's appetite. The restaurant itself is impeccably furnished with comfortable old world furnishing of a past elegance and can accommodate 40 guests. Overall, this British-styled restaurant provides authentic heritage ambience with fine British cooking and a selection of Penang Specialties.

When I visited the restaurant, I have choose to order the full course dinner set. The dinner set consists of Caesar Salad as an appetizer, French Onion Soup, Chicken and Mushroom Pie as a main course and bread butter pudding as a dessert. What I want to share is on the main course menu that i choose, Chicken and Mushroom Pie.

Caeser Salad

Bread Butter Pudding

French Onion Soup
Chicken and Mushroom Pie gives a positive first impression in terms of how the plating of the food which shows the luxury of the food. Boiled egg that has been cut into two pieces placed in the middle of the plate and mushroom sauce dressed on it that contains small pieces of chicken and shitake mushrooms. The Chicken and Mushroom Pie is accompanied by sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes. It is also come with amazingly crispy bread placed on the chicken and mushroom sauce. The crispiness and crunchiness of bread take the interesting points of view that will give a positive beginning for continue to enjoy the food there. Next we talk about the taste, it is delicious and rewarding to ensure that visitors do not leave the table. Very crunchy bread is still playing in my mind to get back into the restaurant. Furthermore, the sauce taste quite delicious and not over-seasoning which gives comfort to the palate to appreciate the delicious food while enjoying the beauty of the night at the top of the Penang Hill. The misty atmosphere certainly gives me great satisfaction and excitement. This is the best food in Penang Hill for the western food lovers, they  should not miss the opportunity to enjoy when visiting the Penang Hill. For this dinner set you have to spend about RM65 per person. The price is not too high when compared to other restaurant concepts. You also will be served with a cup of tea or coffee which indicate that you have been at the end of the course and no more food will be served afterwards.

Chicken and Mushroom Pie
